The Myth of Alcamo is the concept of the investor's dinner we organized to thanks the community who supports us from the very beginning. During the night Davide Cangelosi, Lorenzo Raspanti, Giuseppe Internicola and Ignazio Longo proposed tales of the foundation of Alcamo and popular traditional music. The food was offered from I Raccolti di Tobia, a local farm promoting ancient and indigenous grains, while the wine is made by Vincenzo Alesi that experimenting with indigenous and natural vines.

Flat Hearth Declaration
Conference at Museum of Contemporary Art of Alcamo
Auditorium, ex Collegio dei Gesuiti, Alcamo
“At the very beginning, nature was mean and generous at once, for this we had to live together. We develop our self as a living machine more generous and meaner than the nature. Our life meant someone else death. We have born as innocuous tumours of a lavish body. We become individual cells functionalized to a global death process. Since all this life around us started to produce this opulence, we live now separated from nature in a permanent state of conflict. So for us, the umpteenth flat earth declaration was a windfall. Cities were tainted. Only those who were taking part to the indefinite process of accumulation germinated giving death to all the others bodies. The others were almost suffocated. Knowing this, some of us, those who had the fortune to had contemplated nature, escaped. The leak was like a bleeding. There was no plan. It was impossible to establish a geometrical plan. The cartography of a movement is difficult to be drawn. We reject to live under the rule of an equivalent general universal whatever. We escape every piece of territorialized land. We exchange energy for energy. We take notes and we don’t forget. We give back our life, but we ask your death."

For its 4th edition, Landescape presents Mingling For Chimera: an intersectional hybrid format between residency for artists and a program of public events. Placing itself in the context of Manifesta 12th, MFC aims to explores contemporary forms of producing collective works of art, renegotiating the rules of their own production. It faces the contradiction of contemporary art when it aestheticizes its own critic producing art that appropriates an exotic imaginary, colonizing the political social cultural space not taking in consideration the polluting impact on the territory invaded. Artists coming from the principal Europe’s capitals will meet the inhabitants of Alcamo, far from the comfortable zones represented by the production centers of art and culture. Invited to think from the hypothetical declaration of flat earth, the paradigm shift that redefines the dogma related to a collective work of arts production, they will realize an utopian chimera.
